Tunghai University was honored with the prestigious award for "Outstanding University in International Student Support" at the 2024 National University International Affairs Directors’ Exchange Meeting held on December 12th. This recognition underscores the university's significant contributions to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for international students. The award was presented by Li Yujue, Director-General of the Department of International and Cross-Strait Education, Ministry of Education, and received by Liao Min-Hsun, Director of the Office of International Affairs at Tunghai University.

Under the leadership of President Chang Kuo-En, Tunghai University has focused on three major pillars for internationalization: fostering international cooperation and global outreach, expanding student international experiences, and creating a friendly campus environment for international students. In particular, the university has made significant strides in creating a welcoming and inclusive campus for international students by continuously enhancing and innovating its services.

Under the leadership of President Chang Kuo-En, Tunghai University has focused on three major pillars for internationalization: fostering international cooperation and global outreach, expanding student international experiences, and creating a friendly campus environment for international students. 

To improve the English proficiency of administrative staff and enhance service quality, Tunghai University has developed the "English for Professional Purposes" (EPP) program, enabling staff to improve their language skills conveniently and efficiently.

Furthermore, the university offers a wide range of Mandarin courses and an asynchronous online learning platform to cater to the diverse needs of international students. To facilitate a smoother transition for new international students, Tunghai University has also implemented a peer mentoring program, pairing incoming students with upperclassmen to provide academic and social support.

Through these dedicated efforts, Tunghai University has successfully created a friendly and supportive campus environment that encourages international students to thrive. This recognition not only affirms the university's commitment to internationalization but also motivates us to strive for excellence and become the top choice for international students.
