Tunghai University has partnered with the Taichung City Government to launch the "Tunghai Einstein - Love Beyond Borders Winter Camp" aimed at bringing AI education to rural areas. The inaugural Einstein AI program kicked off at Heping Elementary School in Heping District, Taichung City. Tunghai University President Chang Kuo-En and Digital Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government Commissioner Lin Ku-Lung announced plans to establish AI PC classrooms to cultivate more AI talent and to promote the Einstein AI program comprehensively, thereby reducing the digital divide.

To help children in rural areas embrace the AI era, Tunghai University, in collaboration with the Taichung City Government and Heping Elementary School, officially launched digital AI courses for rural areas. Professors and university students are guiding children through digital and science courses in a "big hand holding little hand" approach during their winter and summer breaks. The first session started today (16th) at Heping Elementary School, Heping District, Taichung City. The launch ceremony was attended by Tunghai University President Chang Kuo-En, Tunghai Women's Association President Luo Hui-Lian, Student Affairs Director Lung Feng-Di, Public Affairs Director Huang Chao-Hsi, Student Leadership Development Center Director Yen Jen-Yu, Master Program of Digital Innovation Professor Jwo Jung-Sing, Digital Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government Commissioner Lin Ku-Lung, Heping Elementary School Principal Chen En-Tse, Taichung City Councilor Wu Zhen-Jia (Mountain Area Councilor), Taichung City Councilor Gu Xiu-Ying (Indigenous Representative), City Government Advisor, Mediation Committee Chairperson Zou Sheng-Da, and Digital Affairs Bureau Innovation Service Section Chief Lin Gao-Chen, among others.

In recent years, Tunghai University has made significant strides in promoting AI digital education. To help students in rural schools keep up with AI technology, the university, together with the Digital Affairs Bureau, has proposed the AI Outreach Program. Future plans include ongoing collaboration with the city government to promote large-scale AI rural education during summer vacations.
President Chang Kuo-En noted that Tunghai has made significant progress in promoting AI digital education in recent years. To help students in rural schools grasp the pulse of AI technology, the AI outreach program was proposed in cooperation with the Digital Affairs Bureau, also receiving support from Mayor Lu Shiow-Yen. Tunghai aims to continue collaborating with the Digital Affairs Bureau to establish AI PC classrooms and introduce educational resources, jointly nurturing AI teaching talents in the Greater Taichung area. Plans are also in place to promote large-scale AI rural education during summer vacations in collaboration with the city government.
Commissioner Lin Ku-Lung of the Taichung Digital Affairs Bureau emphasized the bureau's commitment to eliminating the digital divide, which is especially important for children in rural areas. AI is a strength of Tunghai University, and this year's collaboration on the Einstein AI Outreach Program aligns perfectly with this objective. Lin highlighted that the program provides rural children with equal digital opportunities, allowing them to access the same learning resources as urban students. He stated that the initiative would continue to expand its impact, benefiting more children in rural areas.

Heping Elementary School Principal Chen En-Tse expressed his gratitude to Professors Lo Chi-Hung, Jwo Jung-Sing, Lung Feng-Di, and Huang Chao-Hsi from Tunghai University for planning the AI courses and activities. He also thanked the university students for sacrificing their winter break to serve in rural areas. Additionally, the TCS Explore Future International Education Institute from Taipei sent English teachers and 30 older students to teach English to the children, which he believes will provide the best winter course for the kids.
